What do I need to be a member?
There are 3 types of membership.
Active Member- a degree in an earth science or related subject
Associate Member- a minimum of 2 years working in the oil & gas industry and two sponsors who must be Active members of the PESGB.
Student Member - need to be studying an earth science or related subject. A letter from your Course Director / Head of Department is required.

How do I join the PESGB?
You can apply online or please complete and return the membership form and other appropriate documentation after you determine which type of membership you wish to apply for. Applications are approved by the Executive Council and could take 4 to six weeks to process.

How can I get a copy of the Membership Directory?
The PESGB Membership Directory is produced solely for members' convenience, and circulation is restricted to PESGB Members - and not for sale. As a member of the society you will automatically receive a copy once it is printed.

My newsletter hasn't arrived
Have you moved recently and forgot to notify the office? Please update your details online or complete and return the Change of Details Form. Otherwise please call, or send an email to the PESGB office.

I can not access the members only part of the site?
Are you typing the correct number? Have you renewed your membership? If you don't know your membership number or cannot access the site after entering your number contact the PESGB office.

Can I pay by Direct Debit?
Payment by Direct Debit is available to current members* only. Please return the Direct Debit Mandate to the office (one form per member). This form has to be posted as most banks will not accept a faxed mandate.
*New Members can set up direct debit payments after their membership has been approved.

How do I place an advert in the newsletter?
The Newsletter is a monthly publication with deadlines for receipt of payment and artwork. Rates vary depending on the type of advert. Contact Rebecca Wade on 020 7408 2000 or email with any queries.

How can I get a receipt for payment?
Please send an SAE to the office with details of receipt needed and one will be sent to you. Please note that the PESGB booking and renewal forms have the VAT and Charity registration number printed at the bottom and can be used as a receipt.

Our offices are at 9 Berkeley Street, London. We are only 2 minutes from Green Park tube station.
